Situated on the eastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau, Minya Konka is the highest peak in Sichuan Province, so called "the King of Mountains in Sichuan". It is also one of the most sacred mountains to Tibetan Buddhists in Sichuan. The main peak of Mount Gongga is in a height of 7,556 meters above the sea level and is the easternmost 7000 m peak in the world and the third highest peak outside of the Himalaya/Karakoram.
There are 145 ice peaks with an altitude of over 5,000 meters around the Mount Gongga, due to the magnificent snow mountain sceneries, it has become one of the most popular trekking destinations for outdoor enthusiasts.
Mount Genyen is situated in the Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, to Tibetan people, it is the thirteenth goddess of 24 sacred mountains in Tibetan Buddhism. Mount Siguniang is one of the highest mountains in Sichuan Province with four peaks rises from 5,025 to 6,250 maters: Daguniang Feng 大姑娘峰 (Big Peak or 1st peak), Erguniang Feng 二姑娘峰 (2nd peak), Sanguniang Feng 三姑娘峰 (3rd peak), and Yaomei Feng, also known as Sanzuoshan Feng (4th peak). It is rated as one of the Top 10 Mountains in China for Mountaineering appealing to numerous outdoor adventurers.
The highest peak is YaomeiFēng , also known as the "Queen of Sichuan's peaks" , standing at 6,250 m. It is also the second highest mountain in Sichuan Province and the easternmost peak on the earth over 6,000 m. The other three lower peaks are regular mountaineering destinations through all seasons. Mount 1st peak is normally considered as a pure trekking peak while 2nd peak and 3rd peak are more challenging, requiring basic climbing techniques. Its alluring alpine scenery, exceptional condition for climbing and perfect mountaineering routes nearly meet climbers' needs of all levels.
Mt.Aotaina is known as “The Son of the Snow Mountain” which is located at the eastern foot of Qinghai-Tibet plateau and is 310 kilometers away from Chengdu City. Together with his father Aotaiji and Mother Aotaimei, these 3 peaks formed the 3 tallest and the most prominent peaks of the Sanao Snow Mountains which is located in the same region as Mt.Siguniang - Aba Tibetan Autonomous region of northwest Sichuan. Lesser known than Mt.Siguniang, it is less explored and receives far fewer trekkers.
Mt.Aotaina's main peak is 5,210 meters above sea level. With its relatively flat terrain and beautiful scenery, it is an ideal place for the climbing beginners.
Chola Mountain, 6,168 meters high, is part of the northern section of the Sharuli Mountain Chain in the southeastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is located in Dege County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Chola Mountain is the nearest 6,000 meter peak to Tibet while entirely located in Sichuan Province. Its environment, local people, and local culture are entirely Tibetan style. In addition, the mountains were once at the centre of the Kingdom of Derge and many remnant Tibetan Buddhist monasteries can be found in the valleys.
In the local Tibetan language, “Chola Mountain” means the mountain where eagles cannot fly over. Its spectacular scenery is second to none in all of China’s six-thousand-meter mountain peaks. In the surrounding area, there are more than 20 peaks over 5,000 meters.
Duri Peak(5,535 meters) is in Nami Village which locates at the junction of Sichuan Songpan and Pingwu county. From the longitude position, it can be counted as the most easterly snow mountain in China. The western slope of the mountain is covered by snow all year round which is close to 30 degrees, and other three sides of the mountain are quite broken gravel slopes. It is a good choice for beginners due to the moderate climbing difficulty and the route with good accessibility.

The Tibetan Macaque is also known as Stump-tailed Macaque or the Short-tailed Tibetan Macaque. It is characterized by the short tail, about half the length of its body. A few are black while others are mostly greyish brown. Young macaques have a darker fur with a silver tinge. They have a cheek pouch. Besides, female ones can be differentiated from the males by the red skin around their eyes. This kind of monkey mainly lives inAfghanistan, Pakistan, Northwest Yunnan and Southeast Tibet.
This species of monkey is very rare and can only be found in Southwest China, Myanmar and Vietnam. The common characteristics of snub nosed monkeys are upturned large nostrils, thick lips and no cheek pouch, which are evolved to adapt to high altitude hypoxia.Their name comes as a result of their nose that is unique with no protruding nasal bones. Some scientists believe that this type of nose helps them to avoid frostbites.
The giant panda belongs to the bear family. Giant panda has lived on the earth for at least 8 million years, known as "living fossil" and "national treasure of China", and the symbol of WWF. By January 2021, the wild population of giant pandas in China has increased to 1864. In addition to half of the time that pandas eat, most of the rest of the time is spent in sleep. In the wild, giant pandas sleep for 2-4 hours between meals. More than 99% of its food is bamboo. There are more than 60 kinds of bamboo plants that can be eaten by giant pandas. The life span of wild giant panda is 18-20 years old, and it can be over 30 years old in captivity.
The Asiatic golden cat is a beautiful and elegant feline, known for its changing color patterns. The color of Asian golden cat's hair is very complex and diverse, including golden brown, brown, black, fox red and gray. According to body color and stripes, it can be roughly divided into three color types which are commonly known as red cat, grey cat and mixed-color cat. Besides, it mianly inhabits in tropical and subtropical mountain forests. This cat generally lives alone and is nocturnal with more activities in the morning and dusk.
Asiatic black bear is omnivore and is the relative to giant panda. In many Chinese fairy tales, bears are portrayed as silly or even stupid. However, black bears are the opposite of the lore and have excellent physical agility & well-developed senses, particularly smell. In the Tempe mountain forests during the autumn, Asiatic black bears mainly feed on tree nuts like acorns, chestnuts, and walnuts. They must eat plenty of nuts to store enough energy and fat for winter. In winter, they hibernate in sheltered tree or rock caves, they minimize energy output, and they do not forage until the following spring.
The yellow-throated marten is a common type of weasel in Sichuan forests. It is named for its obvious yellow orange throat spot on the front chest. The ears are short and round and the body is slender with the size like a fox. The yellow-throated marten is a diurnal animal, and wild Yellow-throated martens often live in pairs. Though small in size, they are agile and fierce carnivores that are good climbers. They typically prey on small mammals and all types of birds, or sometimes eat young forest musk deers or Chinese muntjak.
