Itinerary
Day 1 : ARR Lanzhou

Welcome to Lanzhou! You will be picked up by local tour guide at the airport hall or train station, and then be escorted to your hotel in Lanzhou city in a private vehicle.
After check in, you can hang out around Lanzhou City to experience local conditions and customs,You can go to take a walking along the Yellow River, even cruise on the river. or hike up to the top of the White Pagoda Mountain to enjoy the fresh air, beautiful scenery.

Day 2 : Lanzhou train Zhangye(BLD)

Spots:Danxia Landform Geological Park

Take bullet train to Zhangye, Lunch first, then head for Linze County to visit Danxia Landform Geological Park, Admire the Danxia Landform, where you can witness bright multicolored mountains formed by the power of nature. You can witness peaks with yellow, reddish and rainbow layers under the rosy rays of sunset. Afterwards, we will return to the hotel in Zhangye.

Day 3 : Zhangye – Jiayuguan(BLD)

Spots:Giant Buddha Temple

Visit Giant Buddha Temple in the morning, famous for a huge clay reclining Buddha statue,the Buddha statue was carved by woods with a length of 34.5 meters, telling the story of Buddha’s Nirvana.  it's a large complex with regal arrangements built in Xixia Dynasty(1098), and keeps many precious Buddhist scriptures and wall paintings.

Afterwards bus to Jiayuguan in the late afternoon(about 4H).

Day 4 : Jiayuguan – Dunhuang(BLD)

Spots:Jiayuguan Overhanging Great Wall , Jiayuguan Pass

Visit Jiayuguan Overhanging Great Wall andJiayuguan Pass in the morning. The Great Wall is a part of the Great Wall. The wall here was built on the ridge with the gradient of 45 degrees. It is high in the air and it looks as if it fell down from the top of the hill. So people refer to this section of the Great Wall as the 'Suspended Wall'. 

The Jiayuguan Pass is a Ming Dynasty fort guards the strategic Jiayuguan pass, which was known as 'the strongest pass under heaven'.  It is a complex of towers, city walls and other military buildings covering more than 25,000 square meters. The city wall is nearly 11 meters high, and comprises an outer and inner wall. There are two large gates standing at the east and the west of the inner wall. Walkways lead to the top of the wall, allowing horses to climb up the wall. then bus to Dunhuang (about 5H)

Day 5 : Dunhuang(BLD)

Spots:Mogao Grottoes , Singing Sand Mountains, Crescent Moon Spring

Visit Mogao Grottoes in the morning, which holds the world's richest treasure house of Buddhist sutras, murals and sculptures. Situated at a strategic point along the Silk Route, at the crossroads of trade as well as religious, cultural and intellectual influences, the 492 cells and cave sanctuaries in Mogao are famous for their statues and wall paintings, spanning 1,000 years of Buddhist art.

after lunch, go to the Singing Sand Mountains and Crescent Moon Spring. Climb to the top of a sand dune to enjoy the marvelous spectacle of the crescent moon-shaped spring lying in the desert. Ride a camel in the desert and imagine how caravans crossed the desert over 1,000 years ago. You can also take photos of a desert sunset. 

In the evening you can go free visit the Shazhou Night Market, you can try some local food, relax in a drinking bar, or buy some interesting handcrafts, etc.

Day 6 : Dunhuang train turpan(BLD)

Spots:Dunhuang Museum

Visit Dunhuang Museum in the morning, Dunhuang Museum vividly reflects the flourishing social development and cultural exchange between China and the West in the past. then transfer to Liuyuan to catch the bullet train to Turpan(about 4.5H).

Day 7 : Turpan – Urumqi(BLD)

Spots:Jiaohe Ruins, Flaming Mountain, Karez irrigation system.

Whole day’s tour in Turpan, visit Jiaohe Ruins, Flaming Mountain and Karez irrigation system.

start the tour in Turpan with a visit to Yargul (Jiaohe) Ancient city which is one of the best preserved ancient cities in China. The ruins of the buildings are divided into temples, civilian dwellings and government offices.then drive on to see the world famous Karez irrigation system, unique to this part of the world. The system is considered as one of the three great projects in China with the other two being the Great Wall and the Grand Canal. 

The Flaming Mountains is the hottest place in China with the highest temperature around 47.8 °C (118 °F) and surface temperature over 70 °C (158 °F) in summer.

Then bus to Urumqi in the late afternoon(about 2.5H).

Day 8 : Urumqi – Tianchi – Urumqi(BLD)

Spots:Heaven Lake, International Big Bazzar

Leave for Heavenly Lake after breakfast which is 115 kms (71 Miles) over two hours by vehicle.
This beautiful and crystal-clear waters of Heavenly Lake is guarded by the Tianshan mountain and once you are at the like, you will have free time to roam around the lake, simply trekking up the mountains through the various valleys as long as you want. You can go for boating or take cable car (own expense) up to the top of the mountain for full scenery of the lake.

then back to Urumuqi and visit  the International Big Bazzar, it’s a place to get and look at regional products, and there are also imported products from nearby Russia and Mongolia and the new states to the west.

Day 9 : Urumqi DEP(B)

Today is free for you until your tour guide transfer you to the airport in time for your flight or drop you off at the airport.

Tips of Today:

1) please pack your luggage carefully, especially for small things like camera charger, power adaptor, mobile phone, phone charger, wallet and towel;
2) If your flight is arranged in the afternoon, please make sure you check out the hotel before 12pm.
