Day 1 : ARR Urumqi

Welcome to Urumqi! You will be picked up by local tour guide at the airport hall, and then be escorted to your hotel in Urumuqi city in a private vehicle.
After check in, you can hang out around Urumqi City which holds the record for the remotest major city in the world 2,500 km from the nearest sea.

Day 2 : Urumqi – Turpan(BLD)

Spots:Heaven Lake

After breakfast ahead to Heavenly Lake, experience the local Kazak's lifestyle in the deep of Tianshan Mountain.Heavenly Lake, covering an area of about 5.9 square kilometers, lies at 1,980 meters above sea level and features picturesque scenery that includes snowcapped peaks. It is very pleasurable to take a boat trip on Heavenly Lake. See the magical colors reflected on the surface of the lake and listen to many beautiful myths and legends. Then transfer to Turpan.

Day 3 : Turpan(BLD)

Spots:Jiaohe Ruins, Flaming Mountain, Karez irrigation system.

Whole day’s tour in Turpan, visit Jiaohe Ruins, Flaming Mountain and Karez irrigation system.

start the tour in Turpan with a visit to Yargul (Jiaohe) Ancient city which is one of the best preserved ancient cities in China. The ruins of the buildings are divided into temples, civilian dwellings and government offices.then drive on to see the world famous Karez irrigation system, unique to this part of the world. The system is considered as one of the three great projects in China with the other two being the Great Wall and the Grand Canal. 

The Flaming Mountains is the hottest place in China with the highest temperature around 47.8 °C (118 °F) and surface temperature over 70 °C (158 °F) in summer.

Day 4 : Urumuqi – Korla(BLD)

Spots:Bosten Lake

Today will drive about 360km to Korla, an oasis town on Peacock River. During the way, you will have chance to visit the Iron Gate Pass which is of strategically historical significance because it formed a vulnerable bottle-neck on the Silk Road. Upon arrival take a boat trip on Bosten Lake, the largest inland fresh water in China. With flourishing reed and wild lotus, Bosten Lake is the paradise for the waterfowl. Westerners sometimes refer to Bosten Lake as the “Oriental Hawaii of Xinjiang” because of its unique lush scenery surrounded by the harsh Gobi Desert. Afterwards head to Korla.

Day 5 : Korla – Luntai(BLD)

Spots:Luntai withered poplar forest

Depart for Luntai after breakfast, on the way stopover at 91km of the desert highway to visit a withered poplar forest. It is the only desert poplar park in the world, the best location to view the poplar trees in Xinjiang. The park combines scenic sights of the Tahei River, poplar trees and desert into one. Legend says this type of poplar could live for one thousand years, and upon death, it would not tumble for another one thousand years, and once it fell, it would not decay for another thousand years.

Day 6 : Luntai – Kuqa(BLD)

Spots:Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves

Transfer to visit Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves, located 68km west Kuqa county, which is the oldest and the largest ruins of Buddhist culture in Xinjiang, even one century earlier than the famous Mogao Grottoes. The interior murals date from the 3rd to the 8th centuries and, as ancient Kuqa was an ethnically diverse place, artisans were inspired by Afghan, Persian and Indian motifs and styles. Another one of the main reasons to come here is for the incredible landscapes you see along the way: bleak and empty jagged mountains on either side of the road make for haunting views.

Day 7 : Kuqa – Aksu(BLD)

Spots:Tianshan Grand Canyon

Today will drive to visit Tianshan Grand Canyon, located in the mountain area 72km north of Kuqa. It is characterized by oddly-shaped rocks, craggy pinnacles, rugged cliffs and deep ravines. Tianshan mysterious canyon combines with deep, remote, static as a whole that people who are personally on the scene all praise it. Grand Canyon is composed of reddish-brown vast mountain group, uyghur called “Keziliya” means red cliff, actually it is formed by one hundred million years of wind and rain erosion, flash flood scouring, is rare natural dry land places of scenic spot in China. Then proceed to Aksu.

Day 8 : Aksu – Kashgar(BLD)

Spots:Gobi Oasis scenery along the way, Kashgar Muslim family mausoleum

Facing the morning glow, traveled along the Gobi Oasis on the southern slope of the Tianshan Mountains to the political, economic, cultural and transportation centers of southern Xinjiang, Kashgar.
Exploring Kashgar Old City after arr, contains many Uyghur houses,numerous small lanes crisscross the old city, stretching into every corner. It's like walking in a maze, exploring the small alleys in the old city.
A maze of alleyways radiated from the central square by the biggest mosque in town Id Kah, lined with market, handicraft workshops, and residences, the old town is a mix of living and commercial quarters of the Uyghur community. It was the filming location of Kite Runner.
Inside the old city are many buildings hundreds of years old. Most are two or three stories tall. Each house is typically equipped with a staircase leading to the top of the building. The mud bricks feature Islamic and Uyghur styles, with flower-carved decorations. Each house has a courtyard, the size of which varies according to the terrain. All the yards grow popular Muslim trees and flowers, and you will meet many Uyghur children playing in the old town.

Day 9 : Kashgar – Tashkorgan(BLD)

After breakfast, depart to Pamir highland in the south.Travelling up from Kashgar to Tashkurgan is a highlight of Kashgaria and of China as a whole.
Two hours from Kashgar, you enter the canyon of the Ghez River, with its dramatic claret-red sandstone walls. At the top of the canyon, you pop out into a huge wet plateau ringed with mountains of sand, part of the Pamir, a turquoise lake set in front of huge sand dune mountain, and aptly called White Sand Lakes by locals.
Soon Kongur Mountain rises up on the left side of the road, followed by heavily glaciered Muztagh Ata (慕士塔格峰7546m). The main stopping point for views is Karakul Lake, which is an alpine glacial erosion lake famous for its reflection of snow mountains around, the shadow of the "Father of the Snow Mountain" Muztag Peak in the lake.

The mountain scenery was out-of-this-world, snow capped mountains, glaciers feeding fast running streams that merge to form rivers, high altitude deserts, verdant oasis towns that pop up in the middle of nowhere, the meanders through high mountain pastures dotted with grazing camels and yaks.
Before enter the county, will arr Taheman Wetland, look out from the elevated vantage point, and admire the huge grassland unfolding into the distance. On a good day, you might be lucky to see herders bringing their horses to graze here!

Day 10 : Tashkorgan – Kashgar(BLD)

Spots:Ancient Stone City, Aerla Golden Grassland.

Visit the ancient Stone City in the morning, the ruins dated some 2000 years old. Stone City (3,700m) was once a major caravan stop along the Silk Road , built on a tall hill, surrounded by vast grassland and mountain ranges. Climb up to the stone fortress ruins and watch towers for spectacular vista view. On the foot of Stone city is called Alaer Golden Grassland , you can appreciate the view of the ruined city with the beautiful surroundings such as vast grasslands, green mountains, clean rivers as well as the the flavor of national traits of the Tajik people.
Afterthen drive back to Kashgar in the north, Late afternoon arrive back in Kashgar for rest.

Day 11 : Kashgar air Urumqi(BLD)

Spots:Kashgar old town

After breakfast, keep exploring the historic old town, Kashgar was once an important trading post along the Silk Road, today, it is still a hub connecting China to Central Asian countries.Stroll around the Old Town, to explore the special culture and life way of local people in Kashgar.
Visit Idigar Mosque, It is the largest Mosque in China and most famous one in Xinjiang.Abakh Khoja Tomb, which is admired as a well-preserved Islamic architectural complex not only in Xinjiang, but throughout Central Asia. Xiang Fei's love story intrigues tourists from home and abroad.
Enjoy a cup of tea in the famous "A hundred year old teahouse", the  traditional style was preserved. Here people bunch on the bed-stove for warmth, chatting over a cup of fine tea and snacks,time slips away unknowingly.
If meet Sunday, you can visit the famous Sunday market, It has been here for more than 1500 years. The east of the city is transformed into a huge bazaar where peasants, merchants and traders from the regions and neighboring countries meet. There are more than 5,000 stalls and about 100,000 people a day. People come from all over central Asia to do business.The market offers a wide variety of products: crafts, livestock, vegetables, jackets, fabrics, carpets, embroidered blankets etc. You can find handicrafts from Pakistan, scarves from Turkey or dry fruits from Saudi Arabia. Thanks to its mix of cultures, the Kashgar market is a unique experience full of colors and flavors.

Day 12 : Urumqi DEP(B)

Today is free for you until your tour guide transfer you to the airport in time for your flight or drop you off at the airport.

You can freely visit  the International Big Bazzar, it’s a place to get and look at regional products, and there are also imported products from nearby Russia and Mongolia and the new states to the west. 

Tips of Today: 

1) please pack your luggage carefully, especially for small things like camera charger, power adaptor, mobile phone, phone charger, wallet and towel;
2) If your flight is arranged in the afternoon, please make sure you check out the hotel before 12pm.
