Huyanghe Travel Guide

Huyanghe City is a county level city directly under the jurisdiction of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. It is located in the middle part of the northern foot of the Tianshan Mountains and the southwest of Junggar Basin, adjacent to Karamay, Kuitun and Usu cities. It is known as the "Golden Triangle" of economic development in Xinjiang by the economic circle. It covers 678 square kilometers and has a total population of 252,700.

● What to do & where to go in Huyanghe

Huyang River Eco-Tourism Scenic Spot is a national 3A(third level) tourist scenic spot and a national wetland park with an area of 20.28 square kilometers. It is located at the intersection of Urumqi - Ili national highway 312 and Kuitun - Karamayi - Altay national highway 217 in Xinjiang. 

Huyang Water Charm Scenic Area covers an area of 20.28 square kilometers. It is located in the migration channel of migratory birds, rare birds and water birds gather roosted, Kuitun River snakes through the whole area of the scenic area, the two sides of the growth of natural secondary euphrine forest, known as the "Beautiful Fairyland on Earth".

The Euyang River National Wetland Park is located in the middle of the Kuitun River alluvial plain at the northern foot of the Tianshan Mountains. The Kuitun River in the park winds through the whole territory. There are natural diversifolious poplar forest growing on the banks of the park which is a beautiful home for all kinds of wild animals. There are 103 species of rare birds, 16 of which are under state key protection.

● What to eat in Huyanghe

dumpling, mutton hotpot and so on.

● Transportation

Railway: Huyanghe City is an important traffic artery connecting northern and southern Xinjiang. The railways are unimpeded, connecting all parts of the country.

Highway: Huyanghe City is 33 kilometers from Kuitun City, 100 kilometers from Karamay City, 40 kilometers from Usu City, 386 kilometers from Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. 

Airport: Urumqi Diwopu International Airport is about 5 hours away from Huyanghe City. There are flights to/from major cities inside Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and major cities in China’s inland, as well as Mongolia, Central Asia and other foreign countries.

● Climate

Huyanghe City is a temperate continental dry climate. Sunshine time is long, precipitation is scarce and evaporation is large. The average annual temperature is 6.5℃ with an average of 18℃ in January and 25.7℃ in July.
