Sichuan

This is a piece of land owns the title of land of abundance. It locates in southwest hinterland of China. It borders Tibet to its west, Chongqing to its east, Gansu & Shaanxi to the north and Yunnan to the south. It covers an area of roughly 480,000 km2. Put things into perspective, Sichuan is slightly smaller than France, but it is home to 84 million people of different ethnic background. Landscape of Sichuan express itself with huge contrast. It varies from flatland in the centre, where most population and industries concentrated, to huge mountain ranges to its west, north and south where some snow caped peaks top 5000-6000 meters. Sichuan is not in short supply of scenic sites. It homes five UNESCO listed world heritage sites. From dense bamboo forests to pristine alpine mountains, from bustling metropolitan to remote Tibetan villages, this land impress visitors with its diversities. 

Changping Valley

Covering an area of 100 square meters, Changping Valley has 21 tourist spots along this 29-kilometer valley. There are ancient cypresses, lama monasteries, dried haizi and a waterfall scores of meters high, all of which make the valley a tourist favorite.

Shuangqiao Valley

With an area of 217 square meters, Shuangqiao Valley is much larger than Changping Valley and Haizi Valley. Along this 34.8-kilometer long valley, it offers so many tourist spots to explore, providing gorgeous scenery.

Zhonglu Tibetan Village

Compared to the reputation of Jiaju Tibetan Village, Zhonglu Tibetan Village is more peaceful, which gives people the feeling of wandering in a paradise. Especially in autumn, Zhonglu Tibetan Village is full of melons and fruits.

Huanglong Scenic Spot

It is a rare type of Karst topography. In fact, the pools are formed due to calcification. There are more than 3,400 colorful terraced pools in the valley. The highlight is the Multi-colored Pools which scatter on the top of the valley.

Jiuzhai Valley

The superb landscapes of Jiuzhai Valley are particularly interesting for their narrow conic karst land forms and spectacular waterfalls and lakes. There is a number of endangered plant and animal species, including the giant panda, Sichuan golden monkey and the Sichuan takin.

Hailuogou Glacier

Formed 1,600 years ago, it is classified as a globally rare modern glacier with the lowest point at 2,850 meters above sea level. Compared with other glaciers in the world, most of which are located in high and cold, remote and deserted regions, Hailuogou Glacier is more accessible, closer to the urban area, and easier to climb.

Bamei Moshi Park

Moshi Park is China’s only plateau stone forest landscape. It has a mylonite forest formed by crushing, grinding and shearing of rocks in the fracture zone of the part of Xianshui River in Daofu County during the neotectonic movement in the Quaternary period.

Daocheng Yading Natural Reserve

Holy snow-capped mountains, lakes and temples, once accessed only by the odd explorers, red, yellow and green trees form a dazzling autumn vista at Yading Nature Reserve Park, which is now attracting a host of visitors seeking "the last Shangri-la" in China.

Ruoergai Flower Lake

Ruoergai Prairie, also known as Ruoergai Wetland, is one of the top three wetlands in china and is like a brilliant emerald embedded in the border of northwestern Sichuan, which is also called as “oasis of Northwest plateau in Sichuan”.

Sanxingdui Museum

Sanxingdui site is an ancient city, ancient state and ancient Shu culture site in southwest of China, which is the largest in area, longest in time span and richest in cultural connotation. The total area covers 12 square kilometers with a city of 4 square kilometers in the center.

Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center

At present, nearly 100 giant pandas share the base with some other rare animals and birds, like red panda, peacocks, swans and black-necked cranes. Red panda is another species, looking like racoon in North America. The panda base is a must-go place.

Niubei Mountain

Minya Konka (or Gongga Snow Mountain) is the highest among all the mountain ranges in west Sichuan. It is staggering 7556 meters above sea level, making it the 41st highest piont in the world. Niubei Mountain happens to be the best site to view this magnificent mountain.

Wang Gang Ping

Wanggangping is one of the nearest place to view mighty snow mountains in west Sichuan setting off from Chengdu.One of the main motives to visit Wanggangping is to enjoy the majestic view of Gong’ga shan (Minya Konka), a mighty alpine mountain and the highest point in Sichuan Province. This site is only 30km away from the peak of Minya Konka.

Deng Xiaoping’s Residence

After his death in 1997, the local government turn his old house and some surrounding facilities as memorial site and protected areas, it embodies buildings such as the old houses, the statue of Deng Xiaoping, the Dezheng Place, the Cultural relics Exhibition Hall, the Hanlin Yard.

Chengjia Tea Village

Here in Chengjia, many country households are able to receive and entertain visitors with various events and activities associated with teas and agriculture. With guidance of tea farmer, visitor can walk into tea plantations and experience tea harvesting, processing (roast tea with wok) and tasting.

Mount Minya Konka

This region of the plateau, called by Tibetans "Kham", is slowly becoming know to the world for its incredible untouched mountain scenery and spectacular views.The scenery changes with altitude rising, you will encounter with a totally different world every ten miles at Mount Gongga.

Bifengxia Scenic Area

Bifengxia Valley is characteristed by exuberant forests and green peaks for its name “Bifeng Xia” literally means “Green Peak Valley” in Chinese. Here, visitors can breath in deeply to sniff the rich fragrance from the mountains and valleys.

Qiong Hai Lu Mountain Scenic Area

Mt.Lushan is located on the west coast of Qionghai Lake, with beautiful mountains and towering ancient trees, its summit is 2,317 meters above sea level. Therein lies Guangfu Monastery, Sanjiao Nunnery and Guanyin Pavilion, in which birds and cicadas sings, bells chimes and chanting reverberates.

New Century Global Center

The building will eventually face the Contemporary Arts Center, which is designed by the world-famous Iraqi-British architect, Zaha Hadid. Its abstract shape, dreamy streamline and irregular geometry present a strong post-modern style.
