New Century Global Center is a multipurpose building situated at the south end of the city, and is the world's largest building in terms of floor area. It is served by Line 1 of the Chengdu Metro. Nearly 400,000 sqm (4,300,000 sqft) of the building is devoted to shopping. It also houses offices, conference rooms, a university complex, two commercial centers, hotels, an 14-screen IMAX cinema, an Olympic-size ice-skating rink, a "Mediterranean village". The 100-meter (330 ft)-tall structure is 500 by 400 meters (1,600 by 1,300 ft) in size. What makes it the world's largest building is its floor space, with 1,700,000 sqm (18,000,000 sqft). The Boeing Everett Factory in Everett, Washington, in the United States has the largest volume, while AvtoVAZ main assembly building has the largest footprint. 

New Century Global Center is a huge complex, which is composed of New Century Global Center, New Century Contemporary Art Center and Jincheng Square.

The centerpiece of the building is a water park ("Paradise Island Ocean Park"), containing a 5,000 sqm (54,000 sqft) artificial beach, where a giant 150 by 40 m (490 by 130 ft) screen forms the horizon to offer sunrises and sunsets. At night, a stage extends out over the pool for concerts. A stand has been built overlooking the pool with a food court and entrance underneath at the floor level. The new Intercontinental Hotel features 1,009 rooms that are spread over 6x8 story blocks around the edge of the complex.

The building will eventually face the Contemporary Arts Center, which is designed by the world-famous Iraqi-British architect, Zaha Hadid. Its abstract shape, dreamy streamline and irregular geometry present a strong post-modern style.

4. Multifunctional Conference Hall (about 8000 square meters, 86,111 sqft)

Jincheng Square: covering an area of 533,000 sqm, it is composed of music fountains and roadside fountains. There are 17 kinds of fountains with rich and colorful water design. The control system of the music fountain adopts the high-tech system of the international standard music computer (water ballet), and the fountain changes with the melody of the music.
