Located in the northeast of Danba County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, 365 km from Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Provincial. Zhonglu Tibetan Village is 2,100 meters above sea level and has a population of over 3,600 people. The white Tibetan houses and gold-roofed temples were faintly visible against a clear blue sky, colorful but not messy.
In Zhonglu Tibetan Village, there are time-honored ancient watchtowers, simple and grand adult ceremony, a variety of Guozhuang dances, solemn ancient Tibetan opera, gorgeous Gyalrong Tibetan dress, funny and interesting Dingmushan custom, steaming buttered tea, crisp and delicious bun. All these are so vivid and live flesh. People who worship heaven and fear god are devout followers of Tibetan Buddhism, and natural worship and totem worship can be seen everywhere.
Compared to the reputation of Jiaju Tibetan Village, Zhonglu Tibetan Village is more peaceful, which gives people the feeling of wandering in a paradise. Especially in autumn, Zhonglu Tibetan Village is full of melons and fruits. The trees are heavy with pomegranates, pears, apples... You get the best view of the whole village, especially when the sun is setting and the whole village is bathed in the light.
Danba Tibetan Villages are Miracles of Stone Buildings and Fortified Dwellings in China and even the world, known as the Land of Thousand Watchtowers, and the only Township in Sichuan Province selected as China Landscape Township. Zhonglu means a good place where people and gods yearn for. Zhonglu Village is backed by Ribalong Mountain and Mori Mountain, facing the holy Merdo Mountain. There are cultural relics of the Neolithic Age, famous Buddhist temples Ranlong Temple and Shalako Temple and 81 over two thousand year old ancient blockhouses in existence.
The village was built in a valley deep in the high mountain. When you walked up from the river to the village, you found mountains all around you. The village was paved with flagstones, and every house seemed to be a high house and courtyard with stone walls.
