Ruoergai Grassland is located in the north of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province, and borders Maqu, Luqu of Gansu Province. It is on the east edge of Tibet-Qinghai Plateau with an altitude between 3000 and 3600 meters.
Ruoergai Prairie, also known as Ruoergai Wetland, is one of the top three wetlands in china and is like a brilliant emerald embedded in the border of northwestern Sichuan, which is also called as “oasis of Northwest plateau in Sichuan”.
There are three lakes in Re’er Daba Grassland. The smallest one is called Cuo’ergan. The largest one is called Cuoreha. While Flower Lake is the middle one. Titled by Chinese National Geography, Re’er Daba Grassland is reputed as the most beautiful grassland in China, while the Flower Lake is the most charming wetland in China.
Flower Lake is a magnificent wetland embedded in Ruoergai Grassland in northwest Sichuan Province, Featured for flowers, grasslands, swamps and lakes.During the summer, the lake is full of flowers while red leaves add to its beauty in autumn, there is a sightseeing bridge extending from the bend to the middle of the lake. Cattle and sheep can often be found here in groups making it a great place for photography too. It is said that the reason why it is called Flower Lake is because the lake looks like a petal from a bird’s eye view.
The best time to tour Flower Lake is from Jun to early Aug. Flower Lake is tremendous, and the submerged is an incomprehensible marsh. Under the daylight, the water surface reflects distinctive splendor and is loaded with hearts. The lake is encompassed by huge rich reeds, which are influencing with the breeze, mirroring the quietness and changes of the lake.Under the brilliant sunshine, the wildflowers bloom along the lakefront and the water is clear and blue. It is purely beautiful and romantic scenery.
Flower Lake is also an important habitat of wild birds, ruddy shelducks, bar-headed geese, swans and other wild animals live freely there. If you are fortunate enough, you may come across black-necked cranes and red-crowned cranes in July nested by the lake,which are under special state protection.
