Enjoy the Pear Blossom in Jinchuan County in Spring

“As though a gust of spring wind swept past overnight, bringing thousands upon thousands of pear trees into bloom.” famous ancient Chinese poet Cen Shen once wrote about the pear blossom in spring which announces the coming of Spring, and Jinchuan is indeed the true portrayal to see thousands of pear blossoms with flying white snow-like petals.

Jinchuan county is located on the transitional zone between Sichuan Basin and West Sichuan Plateau where alpine grassland and big valleys coexist.

Jinchuan County is the hometown of “snow pear” and being praised as the “the back garden of Aba”. Every year in March, the white ocean of snow pear draws the most magnificent picture in Jinchuan. This is a time when vibrant vegetation retakes the control of terraced land and valley. Showered in the pleasing sunlight, hundreds of thousands acres of pear trees display the sunning beauty with fluttering their white petals and rosy pistils.

The whole pear blossom scenic area extends from Danba county to Barham in the highland fields inlaid with Tibetan houses. Snow pears covered on the terraced hillsides of Jinchuan, dotted with colorful Tibetan Styled houses stretched over 100km in Jinchuan Valley.

Different from pear blossoms elsewhere, the pear trees in Jinchuan county have taller and stronger trunks. It is said that the oldest pear tree here has lived to a hundred years and remained healthy and intact. As you drive your car and pass the picturesque Tibetan villages, you will find yourself travelling amid the overwhelming pear blossoms on both side of the road.

You can hike along the terrace and overlook the magnificent pear blossom scenery from the top of the highland.Along the upper reaches of Da Du River, around hundreds of kilometers or so, the massive peach blossoms will impress tourists with its idyllic scenery.

The highlights of pear blossoms in Jinchuan County would be the scenery in which the Da Du River mirrors the spectacular snow flake high above the mountain afar and widespread fully-blossomed pear blossoms down the valley. Another natural wonder is when the town is shrouded by bluish mist in the morning, the surrealistic scenery, together with faint fragrance of pear petals makes you wonder if you travel in wonderland.

The best place to view ubiquitous pear blossoms is around the valley of the upper reaches of Da Du River. Including  Shenxianbao Viewing Platform, Ge’erxiang, Sha’erxiang, Jinjiangcun Viewing Platform, Songping Village Viewing Platform, Dapingcun, Danzhamucun, Shangengzicun and so on.
