Nyingchi is located in the southeastern part of Tibet Autonomous Region. It is called "the throne of the sun" in Tibetan. Known as the “Little Switzerland” on account of its humid climate, dense vegetation, snow-capped mountains and clear water.

The abundant tourism resources of Nyingchi attracts a large number of tourists every. The 200-metre drop of Ghading waterfall; The famous sacred lake of Red Sect of Lamaism - Basumtso Lake; The primitive forest landscape and natural pasture - Lulang Forest. Among them, the annual Peach Blossom Festival has became the calling card of Nyingchi.Generally speaking, peach blossoms begin to bloom in early March, and they will be in full bloom in April. The blooming period of flowers in different areas is not the same, as it will be influenced by different terrain conditions, local weather and climate and some other factors.

Peach blossoms are often seen as the messenger of spring. When spring approaches, most parts of Tibet are still covered with snow, Nyingchi has already been immerged in a sea of peach flowers. Many people say the best time to visit Nyingchi is when they can explore rosy peach blossoms with snow-capped mountains in the background. In order to celebrate this grandeur of nature and advocate Tibetan culture, Nyingchi Peach Blossom Festival has been hold by local Tibetans and enthusiastic tourists since 2002. During this grand festival, you can not only enjoy the rosy peach blossoms and exotic pastoral scenery but also can take part in a series of festive celebrations which include traditional Tibetan horsemanship and archery, folk sports competitions, a food fair, enchanting Tibetan music and a photography exhibition.

The majority of the peach blossoms center along G318 national highway, Bome, Nyang River, and the road from Nyingtri Milin Airport to Bayi district. As you travel along G318 national highway, the picturesque scenery unfolds before you. Meanwhile, you can appreciate the Lulang Forest, Mt. Namchabarwa(7782m), and Mt. Gyala Peri (7294m).

01. Mainling County

Mainling is situated in the southwest of Nyingchi, at the middle reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River, between Nyainqentanglha and the Himalayas. It's surrounded by Nang County on the west, Gongbo'gyamda County on the northwest, Nyingchi County on the north and Longzi County on the south. Lying along Yarlung Tsangpo River, Mainling gives us a feeling like it's an lush oasis floating on the river. Here is the paradise of peach blossoms.

02. Gala Village

When talk about the place to see peach blossoms in Nyingchi, Gala Village would always be the first place that come to their mind. Hailed as "peach blossom village" in Nyingchi City of Tibet, Gala Village has recently been decorated by beautiful and fragrant peach blossoms as spring is in the air. Peach Blossom Cultural Tourism Festival has been successfully held fourteen times in Gala Village since 2003.There are hundreds of wild and big peach trees growing in the valley, making Gala Village the most popular among tourists. As the village is not far away from downtown Nyingchi, it is very convenient for tourists to get there.

03. Yarlung Zangbu Grand Canyon

The featured view of Yarlung Zangbu Grand Canyon has to be combined with the magnificent Namjagbrawa Peak which is 7782m high, dominating near the Grand Canyon.

The most beautiful peach blossoms in Namjagbrawa are flourishing at the entrance to Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. The brilliant sunshine, pure blue sky, snow mountains and full-blown peach blossoms make you feel like wandering in a fairyland.You can enjoy the great view from road along the southern mountain side of the canyon or take a cruise along Yarlung Zangbo River.

04. Bomi Village

Bomi Peach Blossom Valley is the place where you can see the largest amount of peach blossoms in Bomi County. It is a 50km valley stretching from Qingduo Town to Xumu Village. When you are driving along the valley, you can see beautiful peach blossoms on both sides and you will feel you are in a pinky world. There are various of peach blossoms here, and you can easily take pictures of them while walking along the valley.

05. Niyang River

Nyang River is one of the tributaries of Yarlung Zangbu River. It flows through Gongbo Gyamda and Bayi Town, and joins into the Yarlung Zangbu River. The rich water resource makes the land along the river a fertile for peach tree growing and leaves the riverbanks festooned with peach trees. There are also many Tibetan villages scattering along the river and these are prime sites for the Peach Blossom Festivals.
