Tibet

Tibet Autonomous Region is one of China’s provincial level administration region. It is on the southwest corner of China covering an area of 1,200,000km2. It is the second largest administrative body in China (after Xinjiang). If you put Britain, France, Germany and Dutch together as one piece, Tibet is still slightly bigger than that. To its east is Sichuan and Yunnan Province, to north is Xinjiang and Qinghai. It borders India, Nepal, Myanmar and Bhutan to the south. Tibetan is the dominant ethnic group, making up 90% of its total population. Tibetan and Mandarin Chinese are both commonly used languages. Apart from its exotic ethnic culture, Tibet boasts breathtaking views of alpine mountains, highland lakes, glaciers and idyllic valleys. Tibet sits on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the largest and highest of plateau in the world with average altitude of 4000 meters. The mighty Himalaya Mountain is in south of Tibet reaching an average height of 6000 meters. For visitors, altitude related disease or symptoms should be taken into consideration before setting off. 

Yamdrok Lake

In the eyes of Tibetans, Yamdrok Lake is regarded as the "scattered turquoise ear drop of the Goddess", and is a lake with two long arms of water, making it look like a coiling scorpion from the sky.

Namtso Lake

Namtso is renowned as one of the most beautiful places in the Nyainqêntanglha mountain range. Cuddled by imposing Mt Nyenchen Thangla Ranges, Namtso Lake is defined by its surreal beauty.

Potala Palace

The Potala Palace has stood for centuries as a testament to the Tibetan people and their beliefs. Thousands of pilgrims from around the world come every year to pay homage to this grand estate and the symbol it stands for.

Tibet Museum

The museum hold a rich collection of artifacts represents Tibetan culture. Buddha sculptures, Tanka, classic books, porcelain, jade object and items related to Tibetan custom are well preserved to demonstrate a colorful history of Tibet and Tibetan people.

Pangong Lake

The first glimpse of the tranquil, azure blue water and shaky lakeshore remains deeply in the memory of tourists. You will realize that the undisturbed animals and the undeveloped landscape are the most precious pictures.

Nanyi valley

The Nanyi Valley, a beautiful valley among the Himalayas, is located in Nanyi Township of Menling County, Nyingchi city, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The Nanyi Valley, hailed as the "medicine kingdom" of Tibet, boasts vast area of primitive forest, lush vegetations, as well as abundant water resources.

Sacred Mt. Kailash

Every year, thousands of believers make pilgrimage to Kailash, following a tradition going back thousands of years. Pilgrims of several religions believe that circumambulating Mt. Kailash on foot is a holy ritual that will bring good fortune.

Lake Manasarovar

Manasarovar means Powerless Lake in Tibetan. The natural scenery around the lake is very beautiful. Since ancient times, Buddhists and Bonpos (Bon is a religion native to Tibet) have regarded it as the holy land "the center of the world".

Cuomujiri Lake

With an elevation of 4,100 metres, Cuomujiri Lake is surrounded by lofty snow-capped peaks and well-preserved virgin forests, mostly fir and golden bamboo, providing an excellent environment with high oxygen content.

Zanda Earth Forest

Constant erosion by forces of nature are still shaping this terrain year by year. People say that the best time to see the earth forest is by the time of dusk. When the last ray of sunlight shines on the forest, the scene would be majestic.

​Zaki Monastery

This is the only monastery dedicated to worship the God of Wealth.It is a small monastery but very popular among worshipers. It serves a role as branch temple of the famous Gelug Sectarian Sera Monastery.

Yaowang Mountain

Some people say the best location to photograph the mighty Potala Palace is the Yaowang Hill. It sits right next to the Palace. It is not uncommon to see groups of photographers gathering in the mountain to take shoots when the first sunray hits the Palace.

Sakya Monastery

Sakya Monastery is located at the foot of the Ponpori Hills in Sakya County, Shigatze City, Tibet Autonomous Region. It is a monastery of the Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism and the first monastery and the seat of of the Sakya School, one of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

Laigu Glacier

Laigu Glacier is a group of glaciers, located in Ranwu Town, Baxio County, Changdu (Chamdo) Prefecture, Tibet. This glacier is one of the world's three largest glaciers and the source of the Parlung Tsangpo River. Water flows into Ranwu Lake after ice and snow melt. Ranwu Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in Tibet, is next to the glacier. Beside the lake are dense virgin forests and many primitive Tibetan villages.

Lhasa River

People in Lhasa call it “mother river” as it pretty much shaped the city of Lhasa. The early civilizations and settlements of Lhasa were all found alone the river banks. When Songtsen Gampo united Tibetan tribes in 7th Century, he moved his capital city to the valley of Lhasa river, formed the foundation of modern day Lhasa which is now the political, economic and cultural centre of Tibet plateau.

Live show of Wencheng Princess

The show is based on the legendary story of Princess Wencheng, a girl of Han ethnic background lived in Tang Dynasty (7 century), married the King of Tibet Songtsen Gampo. The marriage was a political one, with sole purpose of striking a peace deal between Tibetan Kingdom and Tang Dynasty (dominated by Han ethnics).

Zongjiao Lukang Park

Zongjiao Lukang Park is in the northern part of Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, located at the foot of the mountain to the east of the Potala Palace. The ancient willow trees are planted next to the lake and the scenery is fascinating. It is a great place to shoot water reflection of the Potala Palace. Most of the photos of the Potala Palace reflected in the water are taken from here.

Karola Glacier

It has the very magnificent seracs which look like exquisite paintings in distance.The white and flawless glaciers are laid on the top of the hill without concealment, with gentle slopes towards the top of the glacier giving way to hanging glacier forms below.

Nyang River

There is also a large meadow in the upper reach of the river, and forest alongside the lower river bank. The stunning view amazes the travelers with the clean water and the reflections of nearby trees.

Basumtso Lake

The lake is shaped like a crescent and lies nestled in a small, but deep valley. Despite being far from the hustle and bustle of towns and cities, Basum Lake has become renowned because of its lush vegetation and the bluish green water.
