Kangding Mugecuo (Love Song) Scenic Spot is located on the mountain on west side of Yala River, 21km away from north of the county town of Kangding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and 26km away from the county town of Kangding County, is an important part of Mount Gongga National Tourist Attraction.

Yeren Lake, namely “Mugecuo” in Tibetan, is located in the northeast foot of Hengduan Mountains, belonging to the Snowy Mountains. The Scenic Spot covers an area of 350km2, with the overall length of 35km, width of 10km and an altitude of 3,200-3,700m, comprising charming natural scenic spots of Azalea Gorge, Fangcaoping, Seven-color Lake, Yaochi Boiling Spring, Jade Pool & Wonderland, Yeren Lake, Honghai Grassland; this unique and beautiful tourist area is formed by plateau lakes, virgin forests, hot springs, snow peaks, strange mountains and stones, and 8km long overlapped waterfalls.

Mugecuo Lake, as the largest alpine lake in the northwest of Sichuan Province, covers an area of 3.2km2 with the maximum depth of 70m. The scenery of Mugecuo Lake is changeable at different times of a day; the endless lake surface is quiet as a mirror with snow peaks and mountains reflected into the lake in the morning; there are roaring waves at the afternoon; while the lake surface is glittering under the setting sun at nightfall. Tourists may appreciate the wonderful mountain scenery of “Tiger-shaped Mountain” and “Guanyin Zhenhai”; admire the wonders formed by cloud, fog, rosy cloud and water, such as “Double-Fog Falling into the Lake”, “Muge under the Setting Sun”, “Muge with Rising Tide” and overlapped waterfalls in different seasons; or enjoy the sand bath and sun bath on the Pearl Beach.

Mugecuo Scenic Spot is surrounded by 7 star lakes of Red Lake, White Lake, Black Lake, etc., pinale and rhododendron forest zones, and unique scenery of mountain, water, air and sound formed by 37 snow peaks, including Zheduo Mountain. The Xianshui River is fractured due to strong modern tectonic activities, passes through the bottom of Mugecuo Lake; the lakeshores are scattered with ancient and modern seismic traces and various ground fissures; the several-kilometers long and 1km wide moraine river formed by tectonic activities is grand, wonderful and significant for scientific investigation.

Mugecuo Scenic Spot is the only way to the Wuming Peak and Dapao Mountain as well as the logistics service base for mountain climbing. The road from Mugecuo Scenic Spot to Tagong Town is one of the best routes for special tourism aimed for geographic and biological study, exploring and pastoral area customs experience.
