Anjihai Grand Canyon, also known as Hongshan Grand Canyon, is located in the northern slope of Tianshan Mountain to the west of Anjihai Town, Shawan County, Wusu City, Tacheng District, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Anjihai River originates from the Tianshan Mountains. Through years of scouring, it breaks out of the Tianshan Valley near Tonggute, forming a large scale alluvial fan under the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains. The valley alluvial fan is large in scale and spreads northward in an umbrella shape which can be called a geological wonder. This place is not a scenic spot, almost no tourists. Even locals do not know much about it.

Anjihai River is one of the four major river systems in Shawan. The upper reaches of the river is Bajiangou, which originates from the main peak of the Yilian Habiga Mountain, rushes out of the Tianshan Mountain valley near Tonggute, formed a large scale of piedmont alluvial fan under the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountain. About seven kilometers north of Yuanxinggong, the river cut out cliffs and valleys, forming plains, treacherous passages etc rarely seen in geomorphic history.

The special geological features of Anjihai Grand Canyon have been featured in the National Geographic magazine. Here there are breathtaking canyons, cliffs and  is as deep as 100 meters canyon floors. Standing on the edge of the cliffs, cold wind surges up from the canyon floor, make people tremble from the bottom of the heart, Legs soft and feet hemp.

The Grand Canyon has red mountains, black cliffs and peaks, green islands, clear water and other landscapes, with different scenery throughout the year. It is just like a ribbon dancing at the foot of the northern slope of Tianshan Mountain, and has become a more colorful grand canyon in China's canyon group, also known as "China's Colorado Grand Canyon". Here the two sides of the landscape is different, the west bank is gobi, relatively flat, the east bank is rolling mountains, forming a sharp contrast, give tourist a chic feeling.

The Anjihai Grand Canyon is about 30 kilometers in length, with the valley floor being 300 to 400 meters at its widest and only 2 to 3 meters at its narrowest part. From above, the canyon features rich coloration. On either side of the canyon, red sandstone and gray mudstone alternate to create an astonishing landscape.
