It was built during the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty in 1718. It was a four-story blockhouse, destroyed in a fire in 1936, and rebuilt by the headman from 1938 to 1940.
Zhukeji Headman’s Official Manor has an important history and culture as well as rich tourism resource. In 1988, it was listed by the State Council of China as the third batch of state key cultural relics protection unit.
In July 1935, Mao and the Central Government Officials stayed in Zhuokeji Tusi Official Manor for a week during the Long March.
Architecture is the ALMANAC of the Times, when songs and music disappear, it still speaks in silence. Zhukeji Headman’s Official Manor was praised as Rare Architectural Wonder in the World & Pearl in the History of oriental Architecture.
Zhukeji Headman’s Official Manor is the political center of the territory under the jurisdiction of the headman and the symbol of the headman's power and status. The total gross leasable area is 5400 square meters, a typical building of Gyalrong Tibetan nationality. The layout of the building is similar to that of a Chinese-style courtyard house. The main house in the north is false six-storeys, the westeast wing is five-storeys, the middle is a courtyard. There are 63 rooms at various sizes. Standing in the courtyard, looking up at each floor, gives a sense of awe-inspiring gloomy!
