Anshun Travel Guide

Anshun, a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of Guizhou Province, is located in the midwest of Guizhou Province, 90 kilometers away from Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province. With a total area of 9,267 square kilometers, it is located in the watershed zone between Wujiang River Basin of Yangtze River System and Beipanjiang River Basin of the Pearl River System and is a typical karst landform concentration area in the world. By the end of 2021, the permanent population of Anshun was 2,458,800.

Anshun known as "Hometown of China Falls", "Hometown of Tunpu Culture",  "Hometown of Batik" is China's excellent tourism city, Guizhou provincial historical and cultural city, 2009 China top ten leisure city, with karst scenery tourism preferred areas of the world, one of the six major gold tourism hotlines and western Guizhou tourism center.

This area has a long history of over 2,000 years. The average altitude of Anshun ranges from 1,102 meters to 1,694 meters, with an overall altitude of 560 meters to 1,500 meters, with typical characteristics of mountain climate.

Anshun is a multi-ethnic city, Han is the majority of the population, followed by Buyi and Miao. In addition, there are the Hui, Dong, Yi and other more than 20 ethnic minorities. Ethnic minorities account for 39% of the city's total population.

In Anshun, there are 115 national, provincial, municipal and county level cultural relics protection units, 5 national key scenic area (Huangguoshu, Longgong, Yelang Cave, Getu River, Hongfeng Lake), 1 national forest park (Jiulong Mountain Forest Park), 1 national geological park (Guanling Fossil National Geopark), 3 provincial scenic spots (Guanling Huajiang River Grand Canyon, Puding Suosai, Pingba Tiantai Mountain - Sila River) and 3 municipal scenic spots (Anshun Tunpu, Anshun Ninggu Tianluo Bay, Zhenning Puli Mountain) as well as a large number of landscapes that have not been included in the planning. There are 3 state level key ethnic villages and 300 provincial level key ethnic villages and 5 provincial art towns. Anshun has two national 5A(top level) scenic spots - Huangguoshu Scenic Spot and Longgong Scenic Spot, two national 4A(second level) scenic spots - Zhenning Yelang Cave Scenic Spot and Hongfeng Lake Scenic Spot (only the South Lake part, other parts belong to Qingzhen City of Guiyang City), two national 3A(third level) scenic spots - Ziyun Getu River Chuandong Scenic Spot and Jiulong Mountain National Forest Park.

• Weather

It is a typical plateau type humid subtropical monsoon climate with abundant rainfall, average annual rainfall 1,360 mm and average annual temperature 14℃, the highest temperature 34.3 ℃ and the lowest temperature of -7.6 ℃. The average temperature is above 10℃ for nine months of the year. The climate is mild and pleasant, characterized by cool, humid, fresh and low solar radiation. Located on the Miaoling ridge line of Guizhou Plateau, Anshun has obvious valley wind and southwest monsoon from the Indian Ocean, windy in summer and no sultry feeling.
