Liupanshui Travel Guide

Liupanshui is located in the west of Guizhou Province on the slope of the first and second grade platforms of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. It is the third largest city in Guizhou Province and located at the intersection of railway crossing point

between south China and southwest China, so it has the reputation of "interchange of four provinces". Liupanshui is rich in resources and beautiful in scenery.

Liupanshui, also known as the "Cool Capital of China". Its city name comes from the first character of the three special zones under the original jurisdiction of Liuzhi, Panxian and Shuicheng. The city covers an area of about 9,965 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 2.859 million.

Liupanshui is located at the junction of Yunnan and Guizhou provinces, the watershed of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and the Pearl River, the two sides of the Southern and Northern Panjiang river basins, rich in mineral resources. With convenient transportation, it is one of the important railway hub cities and logistics distribution centers in southwest China. The city's average monthly temperature in hot summer is only 19.7℃, which makes it a pleasant summer resort. There are different beautiful characteristic sceneries in the four seasons. In 2005, it was evaluated by China meteorological experts and became the first city brand brought by climate resources in China.

This area has a history of more than 2,000 years. Liupanshui is also a multi-ethnic area. There are 44 ethnic minorities. By 2006, the city had a population of 832,500 ethnic minorities. Over 10,000 people live in seven ethnic groups: Yi, Miao, Buyi, Bai, Hui, Gelao and Shui. There are six ethnic groups: Li, Mongolian, Tujia, Dong, Manchu and Zhuang with more than 1,000 people. There are three nationalities with a population of more than 100 and 28 ethnic groups under 100 people.

Liupanshui is a typical karst landform with the highest elevation of 2,845.7 meters and the lowest elevation of 586 meters. There are the Wumeng Mountain National Geopark, Yushe National Forest Park, Yushe Ski Resort, Yeyuhai National Tourism Resort, Minghu National Wetland Park, Yezhong Langur Nature Reserve, Panxian Dadong Ancient Human Site, Panxian Xinmin Yulong Fossil Group, Tuole Ancient Ginkgo, Dadong Bamboo Sea, Slope Grassland, Ale River and many other scenic spots and natural and cultural landscapes.

Highway: There are four expressways in the area. The distance is about 250-700 kilometers to the five capital cities of Guiyang, Kunming, Chengdu, Chongqing and Nanning

It is a north subtropical monsoon humid climate area, affected by low latitude and high altitude, warm in winter and cool in summer, pleasant climate. The average annual temperature is 13 to 14℃, 3 to 6.3℃ in January and 19.8 to 22℃ in July. Annual precipitation is 1,200 to 1,500 mm, frost free period 200 to 300 days. Due to the large topography, local climate differences are obvious.
