This is a caste cave site located in west of Poyue village, Jiazhuan township,Bama Yao Ethnic County, Guangxi Zhuang Ethnic Autonomous Region. The scenic site is home to a chain of cave in different sizes and shapes. They are divided into four major cavities. The most impressing sights are the mighty stalactite with diameter of 3-5 meters and towering 70-80 meters. They are the result of billions of years of development in those caste caves. The huge stalagmites are the sights not to miss. They can grow up to more than 30 meters.
In 1987, a joint team of experts from China and Britain set upon an investigation on these caves. All were in awe when they saw the magnificent views of stalactite. South of China is not in short supply of such sites, but experts from both countries agreed that these caves here in Baimo houses beauty and grandeur that are found in no other caves.
The main scenic spots include Peacock Greeting, Monkey King of Jin Mountain and Du Fu statue, which shows the poet reciting a poem. During midsummer, numerous rock fountains flow from the top of the cave. Springs at the bottom of the cave fill up the ponds. You can wade through them in the shallow area and paddle a boat in the deep area. In the west, the springs from the cave converge with the Panyang River from Renxiang in the cave.
Yao is one of 56 officially recognized ethnic minority in China. They are considered one of the oldest ethnic groups in China dating back to the mythical era. There are about 2.8 million Yao people in south China, mostly (about 1.5 million) in Guangxi Zhuang Ethnic Autonomous Region. They kept many of their old traditions and practices in modern days.
