This waterfall is unique for its location. It is at the upper stream of Guichun River, right next to the China-Vietnam border. This waterfall is the largest transnational waterfall in Asia, and the fourth largest waterfall in the world. Detian Waterfall is also listed as one of the six most beautiful waterfalls in China. Detian Waterfall lies along the upper reaches of Guichun River, and was only 50 meters away from the China-Vietnamese border. It is coupled with the Banyue Waterfall (as Bản Giốc & Đức Thiên” in Vietnamese) on the Vietnamese side of the river. The Detian Waterfall is over 200 meters wide and has a drop of more than 70 meters. Its water rushes down a three-tiered cliff with tremendous force. It is not the biggest waterfall in China, but it is awe-inspiring, and its thunder travels far away. The water rushes down over 60 meters into the pools below, where is a great place for swimming.

The natural scenery of the waterfall varies as seasons change throughout the year. In spring, when the land is covered with green grass, and the flowers are in full bloom, the waterfall and its surroundings turns into a colorful picture. Throughout the autumn months, the area around the waterfall turns golden-yellow, creating a harvest scene. In winter, as water level lowers, the waterfall becomes tranquil and gentle. . It is suggested to visit in summer time as water level is at the highest, the waterfall presents itself with more grandeur. 

Besides the natural scenery of the waterfall, visitors can enjoy the magic and wonders of this border town. You can find Vietnamese peddlers on the Guichun River, rowing bamboo rafts and selling foods, perfume and cigarettes of Vietnam. You also can wander in the market full of Vietnamese items. 

To reach this site, public transportation is available. Every morning, at 9 am, a shuttle bus set off from Nanning Fengning bus terminal (next to Nannong Dong railway station), 3.5 hours later this bus will reach the tourist centre of Detian waterfall. The bus returns to Nanning at 4pm. 

Visitors can also take bus at Liangdong bus terminal in Nanning; it drives directly to the entrance of Detian waterfall. The bus returns to Nanning at 3:30 pm.  

There are also many shifts of shuttle buses set off from Nanning Beida Bus Terminal to Daxin County. Visitors can then transfer from Daxin county to the site of Detian waterfall.

For self driving visitors setting off from Nanning, follow the G324 national highway (Fu-Kun line) all the way to Daxin County. Head for Shuolong township when arrives at Daxin County, the journey continues about another 10km.
