Goose Spring, located in the west of Nianantun, Goose Spring Village, Xinjing Town, Jingxi City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 4.5 kilometers away from the county seat. The mouth of the spring is a karst cave. According to the

hydrogeological exploration data, the main stream of the underground river is 21 kilometers long, with a catchage area of 258 square kilometers and a low flow of 1.4 cubic meters per second. The spring water flows east and becomes the Goose Spring River.

Goose Spring is a rising spring in the valley of karst pinnacles. The spring mouth is a karst cave and it is the outlet of the large underground river.

It was recorded in the local prefecture chronicle in Daoguang Period in the Qing Dynasty(1821-1850) that  the Goose Spring is 15 Li(7.5km) southwest of the city. Legend had it that an old woman surnamed Yang picked up two eggs in the wild, covered with reeds and two geese were hatched. They were put into the spring. Geese stir the water into a unfathomable pool, hence the name Goose Spring. The spring is about 10 mu(6,667 square meters) wide and more than 30 meters deep. Because its catchments area is exposed limestone, the spring water is clear all the year round, the fish are countable, and the scenery is quiet and elegant. The spring is rich in carps, it is a wonder that people by the spring shouted loudly, fish frightened and jump out of the water. "Goose Spring jumping carps three layers waves" is one of the eight scenes in Jingxi City.

Goose Spring scenic area is one of the eight famous scenic spots in Jingxi City with a history of more than 700 years. It is one of the three famous springs in southwest China (Butterfly Spring in Dali and Milk Spring in West Mountain of Guiping) and the source of Detian Waterfall, the largest transnational waterfall in Asia.

The ancient stone carvings of "Paranormal Spring Evening Shine" granted by the emperior in Chenghua Period in the Ming Dynasty(1465-1487) made Goose Spring covered a even more mysterious color, leaving many beautiful legends since ancient times. Surrounded by green mountains, picturesque countryside, green bamboo dancing, water clear as mirror, fish and shrimps like shuttles.
