Jinjfo(Golden Buddha) Mountain is located in Nanchuan District, Chongqing in the north of Dalou Mountains covering an area of 1,300 square kilometers. The scenic area covers 441 square kilometers. Fenghuang Peak, the main peak of Jinfo Mountain is the highest peak of Jinfo Mountain with an altitude of 2,238 meters. The forest coverage rate is more than 95% and the content of negative oxygen ions is about 100,000 per cubic centimeter. 

Jinfo Mountain has 250 thousand mu(approx 1.66 hectares) of original evergreen forest, collecting 2,997 species of plants from 237 families. The scenic area is known as the Eastern Alps. There are 150 species of wild animals and 113 subspecies in Jinfo Mountain. There are 37 species of rare animals and poultry, accounting for about 22 percent of the total number of protected animal species in China. Jinfo Mountain is a typical karst geological landform with dozens of peaks range strentch in the valley and standing more than 100 steep peaks. The area is dotted with natural karst caves and the most famous is the Gufo Cave. 

On September 13, 2013, Jinjfo Mountain and Shenlong Gorge Scenic Spot in Nanchuan District Chongqing were officially approved as National 5A Scenic Spot by National Tourism Administration. On June 15, 2014, Jinfo Mountain Scenic Spot was selected as a World Natural Heritage Site and was included in the World Heritage List.

Green Lake Valley Scenic Spot

Located in the west of the newly developed Jinfo Mountain National Scenic Spot, the Green Lake Valley Scenic Spot belongs to the stream entrance and canyon type eco-tourism Scenic Spot. It is divided into five experience segments. There are up to 100,000 negative oxygen ions per cubic centimeter. The scenic canyon is 3.5 kilometers long which takes about 2 hours to visit. At the same time, this scenic spot is also one of the components of the west slope hiking trail. The whole west slope hiking trail starts from here and reaches the top of the mountain. It is 13 kilometers long and takes about 3-4 hours.

Cliff Plank Road

The cliff plank road is the most magnificent landscape in Jinfo Mountain. The plank road has a total length of 3.5 kilometers, of which 1.5 kilometers is almost built on the vertical 90 degree cliff. It is 40-50 meters above the ground, connecting the scenic spots such as Golden Turtle Chaoyang, Arrow Bamboo Sea, Lingguan Cave, Ecological Stone Forest and so on. Jinfo Mountain cableway is 2,700 meters long with eight people in each carriage.

Jinfo Temple

Jinfo(Golden Buddha) Temple is the largest temple group in Chongqing and one of the four major temples in Jinfo Mountain. Jinjfo Mountain Scenic Spot is world famous for its three wonders of karst world natural heritage, biodiversity and Buddhist culture.

World Wild Azalea Park

The World Wild Azalea Park is one of the core scenic spots of Jinfo Mountain, covering an area of about 6 square kilometers with a total length of 4 kilometers and a main route of 2.2 kilometers.

Ecological Stone Forest

The ecological stone forest is one of the most characteristic and representative scenic spots in Jinfo Mountain. Compared with other stone forests in China, there are the same stone peaks and the same stone forest landscape in various forms. But the difference is that the stone forest here is full of vitality of the wonders of the symbiosis of stone trees, hidden in the primeval forest that blocks the sky from the sun.
