Yunyang Longgang Scenic Spot is a national 5A(top) level scenic spot and national geological park. It is known by tourists as the last Shangri-La of the Yangtze River Three Gorges and by outdoor lovers as the Small Huashan Mountain of Chongqing.
Yunyang Longgang Scenic Spot is located in the southeast corner of Yunyang County, Chongqing and close to Lichuan City, Hubei Province. It is a collection of sinkhole, canyons, karst caves, alpine pasture, forests and Tujia customs. The main attractions are Longgang Sinkhole, Yunduan Covered Bridge, Longdong Scenery, Longku Gorge, Qishan pasture, Biaocao Ancient Great Wall, Qiyangguan Ancient Road Site, Gaixiaba Lake and so on. Longgang Sinkhole is 335 meters deep, ranking the third in China and the fifth in the world. The wall of the Longgang Sinkhole is arched by the cliffs and slopes nearly 90 degrees. This kind of straight up and down shape is extremely rare in the world.
The Yunduan Covered Bridge built on the cliff of 1,010 meters above sea level in Yunyang Longgang Scenic Spot, with petals of the "Sky Flower" as the shape, you can enjoy the surrounding scenery at 720° on the bridge. Its cantilevered length is 26.68 meters, the covered bridge is 718 meters above the ground, 5.34 meters longer than the cantilevered length of the Grand Canyon glass covered bridge in the United States, making it the world's longest cantilevered glass covered bridge.
Yunyang Longgang Scenic Spot is a museum of natural science and a grand view of the geological landscape with unique landforms, dense karst caves, strange peaks and grotesque rocks, stalagmites near the sky, various forms and colorful scenes. The scenery of Longgang is different in four seasons. The flowers in spring, waterfalls in summer, red leaves in autumn and snow in winter are all amazing. On February 25, 2017, it was newly listed as a national 5A(top) tourist attraction.
Rare and protected animals are widely distributed in the scenic area, which is the habitat of a variety of birds and land animals. There are a large number of rare species in the scenic area. According to statistics, there are 31 species of plants under state protection.
