Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street is located in Yuzhong District, Chongqing. In 1997, the government of Yuzhong District of Chongqing invested 30 million yuan to transform the Great Cross Area of Jiefangbei (Minquan Road, Minzu Road and Zourong Road with a total area of 22,400 square meters) into the first commercial pedestrian street in western China - Jiefangbei Central Shopping Plaza with Jiefangbei Monument (Monument to the People's Liberation) as the center.

Jiefangbei CBD is composed of the "core" Jiefangbei area and the "core edge" Chaotianmen area, which undertakes the dual functions of business and commerce. The "core" part starts from Xiaoshizi in the east, reaches Cangbai Road, Linjiang Road and Minsheng Road in the north, Jintang Street in the west, Heping Road and Xinhua Road in the south, covering an area of 0.92 square kilometers. The "core edge" part includes 0.69 square kilometers of Chaotianmen area. Chongqing Jiefangbei CBD area is 1.61 square kilometers in total.

● Pedestrian traffic

At the intersection centered on Jiefangbei Square, paved with ceramic tile, the footpath is flat and spacious. The road extends in all directions and the eye-catching direction pointer on the top of the monument and the road signs and signs on the streets can effectively guide the flow of people. In places with large flow of people, there are no redundant structures and facilities to ensure the smooth route. ●  Monument to Liberation

Monument to the People's Liberation, referred to as Monument to Liberation, is located in No. 177 Minzu Road, Yuzhong District, Chongqing. It was started on October 31, 1946 and completed in August 1947. On October 1, 1950, General Liu Bocheng, Chairman of the Southwest Military and Political Committee of the communist party of China, inscribed the name on the Monument to the People's Liberation. Facing north by east, the monument is a reinforced concrete structure with octahedral helmet shape. The total height of the monument is 27.5 meters and the side length is 2.55 meters. There are a total of eight floors including the basement, and there is a winding staircase to the top. At the top of the monument there were bells on four sides facing the street. The base is surrounded by flower beds. The total area is 62 square meters and the protection area is 642 square meters. This monument is the symbol of the victory of the Chinese people's anti-fascist war, and also the symbol of the liberation of Chongqing and the city of Chongqing.
