Located 360 kilometers away from the main city of Chongqing, in the hinterland of Wuling Mountain, Youyang Taohuayuan is bordered by Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan and Guizhou provinces. It covers a total area of 50 square kilometers and is composed of eight parts, Arcadia, Taigu Cave, Youzhou Ancient City, Taohuayuan National Forest Park, Taohuayuan Square, Taohuayuan Town, Eryou Mountain  Arcadia Cultural Theme Park, Dream Arcadia Live Show, etc. It integrates karst geological wonders, Qin and Jin Dynasty farming culture, Tujia nationality folk custom culture, natural ecological culture, leisure and health culture and sports and health culture.

It is a good place for modern people to stay away from the worldly hustle and bustle, enter the countryside of Qin and Jin Dynasties(221BC-420AD), explore the mysteries of science and return to the green paradise.

If there are only two wonderlands of idyllic beauty, one is in your mind and the other one is in Youyang, Chongqing. Taohuayuan, which literally means a garden of peach blossom, is the prototype of the paradise hidden from the outside world writen by the great poet Tao Yuanming of the East Jin Dynasty (317 - 420) in his influential prose entitled Peach Blossom Spring. In spring time, countless peach flowers bloom together and fallen petals flutter in the wind, leaving visitors with a beautiful memory.   

Since ancient times, Wuling Mountain area has been isolated for thousands of years due to the imperial commandment that "no local ethnic minorities can leave the area, and no Han nationality can enter the area". It is widely regarded as the original place of Tao Yuanming's peach blossom land.

Youyang Taohuayuan scenic area was successively awarded various honors such as the national 5A tourist scenic spot, national forest park, national geological park, national outdoor sports base, China's most international influencial tourism brand, municipal civilized tourist area, Chongqing civilized tourism scenic area, 10 leisure culture tourism brand scenic spot, 2010 of the international famous scenic spot, CCTV "the most comfortable scenic spot”, etc. In 2012, it was successfully established as a national 5A tourist attraction. After Dazu Stone Carvings, Wushan Small Three Gorges and Wulong karst landscape, Taohuayuan Scenic Spot in Youyang became the fourth national 5A tourist attraction in Chongqing.
